The Selection For the Orizzonti Short Films - International Competition
The 82nd edition of the Venice International Film Festival is set to run from August 27 to September 6, 2025, and we’re excited to share that it’s another major stop on our festival circuit this year—we’ll be on the ground covering all the highlights from the Lido!
With the full program announcement just around the corner, the Biennale has unveiled its selection for the Orizzonti Short Film International Competition.
This year, 14 short films will compete for the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film, while 1 additional short film will screen Out of Competition. The lineup features world premiere screenings representing 19 countries from around the globe, showcasing a vibrant and diverse range of cinematic voices.

- The Curfew dir. Shehrezad Maher (USA) - 19 minutes
