Our Team
Mariane "Mar"
Founder, Editor-In-Chief, and Social Media Manager
A fangirl at heart and passionate about cinema for as long as she can remember, Mariane launched W Spotlight—with the help of invaluable collaborators—as a space dedicated to what she loves most: talking about films and creating a platform where women can share their voices on cinema and television. Based in Montreal, she loves putting forward the local film scene and spotlighting its cinemas, while still keeping an eye on what’s happening internationally.
Working in television production since 2021, Mariane has collaborated with several companies, including Productions Bazzo Bazzo, Blimp Télé, Zone3, Aetios Productions, and Productions Déferlante. She built her place in the industry from the ground up, starting as an intern with little experience but a deep curiosity and a long-standing interest in the world of production.

Sarah
Collaborator
Sarah is a lifelong film and television devotee with strong opinions, a soft spot for sharp writing, and an ever-growing watchlist she’ll never fully conquer. A clarinetist with a Masters degree in performance turned elementary educator, she spends her days teaching young minds and her nights overanalyzing stuff she’s already watched. For reasons no one fully understands, she’s obsessed with old shipwrecks, fitting for someone drawn to beautiful disasters on screen. Sarah’s also a proud Lebanese/Italian-American, devoted dog mom, and Floridian plotting a graceful escape somewhere with better weather, artistic and teaching opportunities, and fewer mosquitoes.
