Wolfs (Watts, 2024)

Wolfs (Watts, 2024), the latest crime-comedy on Apple TV+ stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney. The film delivers an entertaining but familiar tale, driven primarily by the sheer star power of its two leads. Directed by Jon Watts, Wolfs revolves around two competing fixers who are reluctantly forced to collaborate on cleaning up a high-profile mess. Clooney's grizzled, experienced character and Pitt's more polished counterpart clash with humorous results as they race through a night of chaos in New York City.

Much of the film’s appeal lies in the easy, magnetic chemistry between Pitt and Clooney, which stems from their previous collaborations in the Ocean's series. Their banter is sharp, with the two often poking fun at their advancing age and playing off their past roles. This dynamic carries much of the film, as the plot itself becomes increasingly convoluted, introducing twists involving drug deals, double-crosses, and crime families.

Stylistically, Wolfs tries to evoke the feel of classic noir films, with striking visuals and a neon-lit New York serving as a moody backdrop. However, despite the strong performances and slick aesthetic, the film occasionally stumbles, weighed down by its attempts to set up future instalments rather than focusing on being a self-contained story.

Ultimately, while Wolfs may not break new ground, it offers a fun, lighthearted experience that lets Pitt and Clooney shine once again on screen together.
